Biofeedback Training

Unconscious or involuntary physical processes are made perceptible to the senses in order to manipulate them by conscious mental control.

You can learn to monitor, train and manage your mind, body & brain better.

Biofeedback training has obvious value for elite and junior athletes, musicians and stage performers at all levels of expertise. With the ability to self-monitor and self-regulate physiological processes that accompany the human stress response and brain function, performers can identify and re-mediate performance undermining states (physical, mental, emotional), enhance preparedness and optimize performance. Good qualitative and quantitative measures and training techniques are now available to you.

HRV Biofeedback Training

Unknown to most people, a person's heart rate varies in time between consecutive heartbeats, speeding up and slowing down, ideally in a regular rhythm. This so-called Heart Rate Variability (HRV) can be seen as a reflection of health, recovery and balance in the (autonomic) nervous system.  Resonance Frequency Breathing - this is breathing at a particular frequency of approx. 6 breaths per minute - is one of the mechanisms to maximize HRV, and enables HRV to become 'coherent' with the breathing rhythm. HRV Coherence is associated with improved adaptive behaviours, for example increased alertness, responsiveness, emotional self-regulation, stress management, as well as improved cognitive function (e.g. attention, decision-making).

Explore strategies to reduce stress and improve your well-being!

Everyone can learn to change the irregular heart rate variability pattern caused by anger, frustration or anxiety (red graph) into a more regular and healthy pattern with positive effects on mood and performance (green graph).

Biofeedback training can reduce symptoms associated with:

  • Asthma
  • Hypertension & stress
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Chronic pain (headaches, back pain)
  • Performance anxiety
  • Overall Health, fitness & Recovery
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
